Haringey Stars Changes its Name to ‘Ingenium’ in Order to Support its Growth and Social Projects in London

London, Tottenham,–As an organization expands, changes are made to meet new organizational expectations. Haringey Stars, a well-known social enterprise in the borough of Haringey, London, is changing its name to Ingenium to support its service expansions to all of London.

Ingenium is just a new name for the performing arts based development organization  that caters to 13 to 24-year-olds by positively influencing and enhancing much needed social, organizational and leadership skills.

The name change came to fruition after the decision to change the name was taken to the board of directors. Members and many program participants felt a new name would make the organization relevant to all residents of London.

Linda Marie, a board member of Ingenium, formerly known as Haringey Stars, states, “I love the new name. It helps to drop certain barriers we have encountered when setting up projects in neighboring boroughs.”

Though many of the organization’s programs were designed to include participants from various boroughs, people would call in to find out if they could participate due to them not being from Haringey.

John Zavuga, Chief Executive Officer of Ingenium, agrees with the sentiments expressed by many of the young people. He adds that, “The old name was rather restrictive and would pose a challenge for the organization when delivering services to the young people in the neighboring boroughs of Hackney, Enfield and Islington.”

Mr.Zavuga also adds that,” With the new name, we believe the residents of the other boroughs other than Haringey will feel included. The organisation can also take advantage of services offered by other boroughs.”

In the following weeks Haringey Stars will be making changes to its website and social media channels to reflect the name change to Ingenium.

The “Time 2 Shine” Showcase will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2014, starting at 7.30pmIt will be held at West Green Learning Centre @Parkview Academy.  The public can look forward to several diverse styles of music.   According to music tutor Sharon Golob, ‘You can expect to hear some choice R&B, rock and afro beat as well as original spoken word and rap.  Members of the public are invited to come along and enjoy the showcase and show their support for young people.”
